Vandana's Journey: Building Bonds, Spreading Joy, Finding Purpose

Vandana Tamret is a woman who has dedicated her life to building strong relationships, spreading positivity, and finding purpose in helping others. From her early years in a joint family to her leadership role in Sukoon Unlimited, Vandana’s journey is one of resilience, wisdom, and an unwavering belief in the power of human connection. Whether it’s through her childhood adventures, her passion for supporting senior citizens, or her dreams of spiritual discovery, Vandana’s story is an inspiring testament to the beauty of living with purpose.

Innocence and Togetherness: The Foundations of a Life Well-Lived

Vandana Tamret’s childhood was filled with simple yet unforgettable joys. One of her fondest memories is from her 5th standard when she and her friends would place coins on the railway tracks near their school. As the trains passed, the coins would flatten and change shape. They would then proudly show these "old" coins to others, enjoying the little moments of childhood fame. "We needed a little popularity in childhood," she recalls with a laugh.

Growing up in a joint family, Vandana learned the value of togetherness early on. Family was everything, and those early experiences shaped her ability to form strong, meaningful relationships later in life. She always cherished the warmth of a close-knit family, where elders played an important role in shaping values and character. These early experiences laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to building and nurturing strong relationships.

Extending the Family Circle: Creating a Community of Care and Belonging
While Vandana has always approached life with honesty and dedication, she considers Sukoon Unlimited her greatest achievement. As a Sarthi (a guide and mentor) in this community, she supports and connects with senior citizens, ensuring they feel valued and heard. "I want to be known not by my name but by my work," she says proudly.

Her passion for Sukoon Unlimited is deeply personal. Coming from a joint family, she always loved the idea of a big, close-knit community. Sukoon Unlimited became an extension of that a larger family where she could contribute and find deep fulfillment. She was drawn to the platform when she first heard about it during a project related to marriage. She was instantly fascinated by its purpose designing a caring and nurturing environment for seniors.

For Vandana, Sukoon Unlimited is not just an organization it is a family. She has built genuine relationships with the seniors she works with, often feeling as though they are her own extended family. "I don’t see them as just seniors. They are my own people, and it is my responsibility to care for them," she explains. The bonds she has created at Sukoon Unlimited go beyond mere duty they are built on love, trust, and a shared sense of belonging.

Embracing Challenges, Finding Strength: A Legacy of Resilience and Hope

Looking back, Vandana wishes she had taken her education more seriously. "If I could go back, I would focus on my studies and make a career," she admits. She believes that education opens doors and empowers individuals to communicate, grow, and thrive. Now, she encourages young people to seize opportunities and build a strong future. "There is nothing without a career," she emphasizes.

Despite life’s challenges, Vandana has never believed in the word "impossible." Her philosophy is simple: "If you want something, no matter how difficult the time is, it cannot defeat you until you give up." Her resilience has helped her overcome obstacles and turn them into stepping stones. She believes that patience and unwavering faith are key to navigating life’s struggles.

She credits her mother for shaping her outlook on life. Vandana lost her father when she was just six or seven years old, and her mother single-handedly raised six children. "She taught us to be happy in every situation. No matter how difficult things were, we never felt like we lacked anything," she says. Her mother’s strength, resilience, and values have stayed with her throughout her life.

Small Moments, Big Joy: Appreciating the Little Things in Life

For Vandana, happiness isn’t about grand achievements but about finding joy in the little things. She loves cycling, which makes her feel like a child again free, lighthearted, and unburdened. "When I ride my cycle, I forget everything. I feel like there is no one superior to me. I am the best!" she says.

She also enjoys sketching, often drawing nature, cartoons, and mandalas. Creativity gives her a sense of peace and self-expression. But more than anything, she finds joy in human connections. Whether it’s forming bonds at Sukoon Unlimited or striking up conversations with strangers, she believes relationships bring true happiness.

"See, some people are happy even in sadness, and some are sad even in happiness. It all depends on how you think," she explains. Her positive outlook helps her appreciate every moment, no matter how small. She believes that true happiness comes from one’s perspective focusing on what one has rather than what is missing.

She also values the relationships she has built at Sukoon Unlimited. She recalls how seniors from the community call her before events, advising her to dress well and enjoy the occasion. "It feels like having a guardian who truly cares about me. These little things touch my heart deeply," she says.

Looking Forward: Dreams of Kailash and a Life Well-Lived
While Vandana has accomplished a lot, she still dreams of visiting Kailash Mansarovar, a sacred mountain in Tibet. "I have a lot of faith in spiritual energy, and I want to see the mystery of Kailash with my own eyes," she says with excitement. She hopes to make the journey soon, fulfilling a lifelong wish.

She believes that there is a deeper connection between life’s mysteries and faith. Kailash Mansarovar holds an enigmatic aura, and Vandana is eager to experience its spiritual significance. "The signs of Kailash match the descriptions in ancient scriptures. I really want to see that," she explains.

For Vandana, life is not about waiting for things to happen but about making the most of every opportunity. From her childhood mischief to her work with Sukoon Unlimited, from cycling through the streets to dreaming of Kailash, she embodies a life filled with purpose, love, and unwavering positivity.
