Some people let life shape them, while others take charge and shape their own destiny. Dr. Sanchita Brahmachari belongs to the second kind. A teacher, mentor, poet, and Principal.  She has spent her life breaking barriers, overcoming struggles, and inspiring others with her determination and resilience.

Her journey is one of love, sacrifice, and an unbreakable spirit. From a cherished childhood to battling societal norms, from facing hardships as a single mother to finding joy in her passions, her life is a testament to what it truly means to persevere and grow.

A Balance of Discipline and Imagination: The Forces That Shaped a Future Leader
Dr. Sanchita’s childhood was one of warmth and protection. As the firstborn in the family, she never had to ask for anything her parents always ensured she had what she needed. Growing up with a younger brother, she learned early on the values of sharing, caring, and gratitude.

Her upbringing was shaped by the strong values instilled by her father. A man of discipline and tradition, he set clear expectations and emphasized the importance of education. His guidance fostered resilience and determination, inspiring her to work hard and carve her own path while upholding the values he cherished.

Even as a child, Sanchita had a creative spirit. She loved dancing, writing, and storytelling, a passion she inherited from her mother, who was a talented amateur theater artist. She spent hours immersed in books, listening to stories, and dreaming of a world beyond the one she knew. However, she was not a top-ranking student.

"I was a last-bencher, more interested in creative arts than in textbooks. But I always had a love for learning in my own way."

This thirst for learning would later become the driving force behind her success.

Against All Odds: Resilience in the Face of Societal Norms and Personal Struggles
Her father was a man of strong values who deeply believed in family and tradition. He wanted the best for his children and envisioned a stable, secure future for them. While he initially had reservations about Sanchita pursuing a career, it came from a place of concern and protection. However, he also recognized her determination and love for learning. Through many heartfelt discussions, she was able to earn his trust and support, securing his blessing to pursue Montessori training in Pune. It was a significant milestone in her journey and a testament to their evolving bond, built on mutual respect and understanding

Even after she completed her training, she had to constantly prove herself. Society wasn’t always welcoming, and being a woman in a leadership position wasn’t easy. But she worked hard, climbing the ladder from teacher to trainer to Principal, shaping the lives of countless students and educators.

Just when she thought she had overcome her biggest struggles, life tested her in a way she never imagined.

Sanchita became a single mother, left to navigate the world alone with a young daughter. Suddenly, she wasn’t just responsible for herself she had another life depending on her.

With limited support, she had to juggle work, financial burdens, and motherhood all at once. She worked at Times of India, leaving home early in the morning and returning late at night. Her daughter, just two and a half years old, spent most of her time at a babysitter’s place.

There were days when she barely had enough money to buy food for herself. For an entire week, she survived on Parle-G biscuits and water, ensuring her daughter ate properly. She never let her struggles show, choosing instead to keep moving forward, no matter how hard it got.

Her father, though distant, was always watching. He never openly praised her, but he took quiet pride in her success. It wasn’t until he was on his deathbed that he finally said the words she had waited a lifetime to hear:

“I am proud of you and your brother.”

It was a moment she would never forget.

Inspiring Others, Finding Herself: The Joy of Mentoring and Guiding Potential
Through all of life’s struggles, Dr. Sanchita never lost herself. She never allowed challenges to strip away the things that made her who she was. Instead, she turned to her passions writing, poetry, meditation, and gratitude to find peace and purpose.

Writing had always been a part of her life. As a child, she would pen down her thoughts in a diary, but as she grew older, poetry became a powerful way for her to express the emotions she couldn’t always say out loud.

Over the years, she has written several poems, some of which have been published in two anthologies available on Amazon. Her poetry captures her struggles, dreams, and reflections on life, serving as both a creative outlet and a source of strength.

She also believes deeply in the power of gratitude and mindfulness.

Every morning, before the world wakes up, she takes time for herself. She wakes up at 4:30 AM, sits in silence, and practices meditation and gratitude writing. This simple habit has helped her stay grounded, hopeful, and resilient, no matter what life throws her way.

Another passion she holds close to her heart is mentoring and inspiring others. As a principal, mentor, and trainer, she finds joy in helping others discover their own potential. For her, happiness isn’t about big achievements but about the little things a student excelling, a teacher growing in confidence, or simply being able to guide someone toward a better future.

"Happiness isn't in the grand victories. It's in the small moments, the tiny joys we often overlook."

She believes that no matter how hard life gets, we should always find ways to keep our passions alive.
